    Hi,

For anyone wanting to make a TV programme, I can recommend this book, "ON CAMERA" it costs ?13.99 and was written by a man from the BBC called Harris Watts.

It will explain most of what you will need to know and help you get the most out your equipment and yourself.

    ISBN 0-9507582-3-x

    Cool

I think what Foster is trying to say is: Do you work for Amazon or something? All your posts appear to be trying to get us to buy books.

PS: On Camera is also a pretty duff book. Very regimented and BBC "Old Boy" style. Most people on this board fall into two camps: those who read "Directing, Shot-by-Shot" by Stephen Katz and those who read "Rebel Without a Crew" by Robert Rodriguez.

    3 camps:

    "Directing, Shot-by-Shot" by Stephen Katz
"Rebel Without a Crew" by Robert Rodriguez
"Book? Does it have pictures?" Curtin Parloe

I fall into the latter category.

If anyone wants to buy my new pop-up book "Peter and Paul make a film", it is on sale at most good psychiatrists wink

    Cheers

    Paul

    Hi,

The books I have recommended are ideal for those who have purchased a video/film camera and editing equipment and wish to progress into production.

The basic, fundamental, building blocks remain the same, regardless of time and culture and ass holes who think they are cool dudes.

For all you would be cool ass hole filmmakers out their, doing all those remakes of something that has been done before, I would like to remind you! Films can only have 5 beginnings, 5 middles and 5 ends.

That is all the choice you have. TOUGH BIRD SHIT I would say with such limited options its no wonder it is so difficult to be original.

    Jim Bird.

NB I am aware of this book "Rebel without a Crew" by Robert Rodriguez, but the last thing we need to be is a "producer without a clue"

What a load of crap. Oh, did you forgot to leave your business card, Birdshit? You know what? Amazon.com can kiss my muthafuckin' ass for sending such an obvious 'undercover agent' over here, trying to plug books that nobody needs.

    "Cool dudes"...what the fuck?!?
